If you wish to send artwork we can accept CD, DVD, flash drives and email fewer than 150M. (art@purpletunatees.com)
Please send it in one of the following programs and include a JPEG, PDF or hard copy with details on placement, colors, & preferred imprint size. (Please note imprint size is based on smallest garment ordered).
The Art Department is equipped with Macintosh and PC computers. The following is a list of applications we are compatible with:
Freehand 10 or earlier
Adobe Illustrator CS or earlier
CorelDraw 11 or earlier
• Convert fonts to outlines or curves
• Use PMS spot color pallet
• All halftones should range from 15-70%
• Please include all placed bitmap images
PhotoShop 7 or earlier: This program should only be used when submitting dye sublimation, screen printing a four color process (CMYK) print on lights, or for providing a one color placed TIF. This program can be used for simulated process or indexing on dark garments, but please consult our Graphics Department before you send it in this format.
• For dye sublimation save as a JPG, TIF or PSD file, minimum 150 dpi @actual size
• For screen-printing save as a TIF or PSD file, 300 dpi @actual size (stuff file or electronic transfer if too large)
• Type that is set in PhotoShop does not print well unless the art is created at actual size & the resolution is 300 dpi or higher, so please include all fonts so we can set the type in a vector program.
• PhotoShop files often require more art time to translate into screen printable art.
• JPG can be used for dye sublimation output - not for screen printing output, due to their quality. Additional art charges are required.
• Some files may need to be submitted in layers if editing is required.
HAND DRAWN ARTWORK, LOW RESOLUTION FILES, or “IDEAS"
The following artwork formats require art charges of $60 per hour:
• We can work from your design “idea” and have our Art Department put together an
original design to use for your business, clothing line, band, etc. We send you a proof via email before we print any graphics.
• We can also accept hand drawn artwork. We usually scan these hand drawn images
into our computers at a high resolution to get them “print ready”. We send you a proof
via email before we print any graphics.
• If you have a low resolution file, business card, or web graphic, our Art Department can usually redraw the image into a higher resolution vector file to get it “print ready”.
Again, we always send you a proof of the finished design for you to approve before we ever print your job.
Please Note: We can only begin working on artwork once we have your screen printing or embroidery order in our system. All artwork must be accompanied by a printing order. Once you place your order, our Art Department will contact you with proofs for your job via email. You will have access by phone and/or email should you have any questions or revisions.
